- Only utilize people within your team.
- Use of generative AI (e.g., services like copilot or ChatGPT) is prohibited.
- Consultation about the contest problems with people other than the contest director or your team is prohibited.
- Do not share any technical information or code related to a contest with people outside of your team while it is actively running.
- The USIOT contest environment is meant to mimic the environment at the International Informatics Olympiad in Teams, where all code must be written from scratch, and the only references you may consult are those describing syntax or library functions of your programming language. You may, therefore, NOT use pre-written code or "templates" to get a head start on your coding, and you may not consult resources other than those that provide information about the basic functionality of your programming language (e.g., syntax, library functions, input/output, etc.).
- All IIOT Rules must also be followed.
- Do not use multiple accounts or more than two computers to try to circumvent the time limits
- Do not submit any code that behaves maliciously toward the grading machine (i.e., do not try to open network connections, intentionally slow down the grading machine, etc.).
- During the national finals, if you opt for Zoom, you must have a 360º camera join the Zoom meeting, one of which will be provided to you. Your screen must only have the problems and your IDE open. If this is during the national finals, all participants will be actively sharing their screens.
- Do not compete in other countries' national qualifications to IIOT if you live in the USA, and vice versa for USIOT if you don't live in the USA.
PARTICIPANTS WHO VIOLATE ANY OF THE POLICIES ABOVE WILL BE BANNED FOR LIFE FROM ALL USIOT AND IIOT ACTIVITIES. DON'T CHEAT -- THERE ARE NO SECOND CHANCES!
